JIO Outgoing calls are no more free

JIO will now charge on calls to other networks


After the launch of JIO fiber plans on September 2019 Now Reliance Jio has announced They will be charging for voice calls that are made to other networks. This is Interconnect Usage Charge (IUC). Jio also stated the calling charge will be 6 paise per minute(Rs. 0.06/min).

However, Jio to Jio calls will be free of cost. Also, Jio stated that as compensation Jio will provide an additional 1 GB Free data for every 10 Rupee spent.

Key Points -

Jio - Jio Call Charge = FREE
Jio - Non  Jio call Charge= 6 paisa / min

Calling from Jio to Non-Jio Customer will be charged from 10th October onwards.

Means now you have to keep balance for calling Non-Jio customers.

Jio Compensation :

Jio will offer 1 GB extra free data for every 10 Rupees spent.

What is Interconnect Usage Charge(IUC)?

The Interconnect Usage Charge or IUC is a tariff that is paid by one mobile telecom company to another. For example- If a customer having Jio connection makes a call to his friend having Airtel connection, so here Jio will have to pay some charge to airtel per-minute basis. These charges are fixed by the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) that is 6 paise per minute.
